A couple of days ago Taylor & Colton had the most beautiful wedding ever!! They have been anticipating this day for a while now and I’m so glad that I was able to be a part of it!!
When I arrived at The Barn at Linden Nursery I was so excited and nervous! I had gotten to know Taylor and Colton over the last 5 months and I couldn’t wait to spend their wonderful day with them! When I walked upstairs to see Taylor she was with Britt getting her makeup done and I was blown away by how beautiful she looked! She radiated excitement!! I gathered up her details and she pulled out her dress and my jaw LITERALLY dropped!! Her dress is AMAZING!! Then she told me that she bought it for $400 and I realized that I need to learn how to shop from her!! $400?? That is an amazing price for this beautiful dress!
As I was shooting her details I heard her talking with her bridesmaids about Colton’s father who had passed away about 9 years ago. Mike was the fire chief at the Saratoga Springs Fire Department and she had placed his fire jacket, his helmet, and a portrait of him at the front of the aisle. She then read a Facebook post that Colton had written that morning to his dad:
“Well dad, today is the big day for me. I know you might not be here in person I know that you will be watching over it. It’s really starting to sink in that I won’t get to see that big smile as I’m standing waiting for my beautiful bride to walk down, but I know that you hand picked this family that I’m about to give our last name, I know you have been there through the tuff times when I’ve wanted to throw my hands in the air, I know you didn’t let me. You have guided me to such a beautiful and amazing wonderful women to spend forever with and I can’t thank you enough for it! I love you pops and I can’t wait for you to see how beautiful this night is going to be. I love you dad and miss you like F***in crazy!” We all sat and cried (in fact it is making me tear up as I sit here and remember that moment) and I knew this was going to be a beautifully emotional day for the both of them!
When Colton arrived I got him in place for their first look. I asked him “Are you ready for this?” he said, “More than you know!” When we had him in place and brought Taylor out she asked me “Do I look okay?” I said, “You look BEAUTIFUL!!” As Colton turned around and saw his beautiful bride for the first time in her AMAZING dress he started crying and she immediately pulled him into her arms and I heard him whisper “I love you”.
As we went to take pictures of them at the ceremony site, Colton saw his dad’s jacket and helmet and immediately stopped to take a deep breath. I turned to look at him and Taylor he had tears silently falling down his face. I don’t think I can describe the moment that he walked down the aisle and put his hand on that chair. It was beautifully heartbreaking. He immediately moved to Taylor and she wrapped him in her arms. As they sat and cried together it was as if time stood still…no one moved, no one breathed, we were all waiting…frozen, giving them their time together. And…now I have to stop telling you about this because I am welling up in tears now!
The day moved by in a flash but it felt like time slowed as we moved into the ceremony. As Taylor started down the aisle tears again came to Colton’s eyes at his beautiful bride who would soon be his wife! After the I Do’s, the rings, and the announcement of husband and wife Colton kissed Taylor with a kiss that almost knocked the two of them down! He was so excited to finally be her husband! After that, we had the most amazing party! Complete with dancing, a photo booth, cupcakes, and a smashing of the cake in each other’s faces!
Taylor and Colton, I hope you know how much I loved being there to spend the day with you! You two are so perfect for each other and I know that you two will be the best husband and wife ever!!
Thanks to all the vendors that helped make this wedding so amazing!!
